Contributions
BeRCH reflects a strong partnership between Florida State University and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. As indicated in the figure, FSU's cumulative investment exceeds that of the award from EPA (RD-840632). Together, we will advance the science underlying the role of cumulative exposure to chemical and non-chemical toxicants in children's development and health.
The natural outworking of this science is tools and strategies to ensure every child, including those in rural agricultural areas, has equal opportunity for health development.
Featured in SAMHSA’s “The Dialogue"
Our research at the Bioecological Center for Rural Children's Health (BeRCH) has been prominently featured in SAMHSA's "The Dialogue," a prestigious publication on disaster behavioral health. The article highlights our expertise in identifying unique behavioral health challenges facing seasonal and migrant farmworkers, as well as our innovative solutions for supporting their mental well-being. This recognition underscores BeRCH's significant contribution to rural disaster behavioral health (DBH) and our commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable populations in agricultural communities.
